Work with the Moon, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn or Neptune outside your window, seen from orbit, or sit at the edge of a black hole. Places now gathers related Places into series, so the next place to work is easier to find.

Locus 1.4.0 is now available on the App Store. It requires visionOS 27. Check your installed version in Settings → Help & About → About Locus.
Head into space
Open Places and choose the Into Space series. The Moon, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune now join Earth, each seen from orbit beyond your Room. Jupiter’s cloud bands drift and turn as the planet spins, and Saturn’s rings sit in its equatorial plane, casting a shadow on the planet and catching its shadow in return.
Earth from Space and Low Orbit Earth are free. The Moon, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune are Supporter Places.
Event Horizon: two black holes
Event Horizon: Ring 和 Event Horizon: Disc put a black hole and its glowing disc outside your window, with the starry sky bent around it. The gas in the disc keeps flowing, short flares flicker across it, and the distant sky turns slowly.
打開 Current Place → Motion to set Sky Drift, flow speed, glow, flares and brightness for each View, or turn Motion off for a still image. In the film, the Ring’s Sky Drift is set to 0.4° per second, twice its default.
Event Horizon: Ring is free. Event Horizon: Disc is a Supporter Place.
Places, in series
Places now groups related Places into series, such as Into Space, At the Café, After Dark and In the Clouds. Places added recently are marked New, so you can see what has arrived at a glance.
What’s in the film
The film opens at the desk in Orbital Lounge above Earth, visits the planets and Event Horizon: Ring from Free Capsule, and comes home to Tidal Veranda over Tropical Shallow Bay and Silverpine Night Lake. Free Capsule and Tropical Shallow Bay are free; Orbital Lounge, Tidal Veranda and Silverpine Night Lake are Supporter Places. In Apple Vision Pro, every Place surrounds you in stereo, which a flat film cannot show.
Make your own
Black hole Views and the new planet effects are part of the public Package v2 format, so your own ZIP can use them. The black hole View tutorial builds a complete black hole View with open tools.
