A Place is one View for the scenery and one Room for the space around you. Start with that pair, then learn the few buttons that bring everything else within reach.
Choose a View and Room
Open Places. If you are already inside a Place, use the Places button in the Locus bar.
Choose a Room card. Pick Your Room to keep your physical room around you, or choose a 3D Room to enter a complete virtual space.
Choose a View card. This is the 360° scenery that appears beyond the Room or through your opened walls.
Check the summary, then choose Enter. Locus opens the experience that matches the Room you selected.
One Room card and one View card stay selected. Inside a Place, the current pair appears at the bottom and choosing another card applies it immediately.
Choose the experience that fits your room
Virtual SpaceChoose a 3D Room. Locus places you inside it and keeps the real desk area available where supported.
Room PortalChoose Your Room. Locus keeps your physical room present and lets you open detected walls onto the selected View.
Give yourself room to settle in. Clear the area around you and follow Apple Vision Pro safety guidance. A Room can offer several seats; choose the one whose table and sightline fit what you want to do.
Find the main pages
The buttons above the main Locus window replace the page inside that one window. They do not open a trail of extra windows.
PlacesPair a Room with a View, then enter or change your current Place.
LibraryFind more Rooms and Views, manage what is on your device, or choose Import Your Own.
HelpOpen answers, support, privacy information, and links for making your own content.
SettingsChange app-wide options such as viewing position and Browser behavior, or find account and app information.
Choose Close at the upper right when you want the large page out of the way. Your Place stays open, and the smaller Locus bar remains available.
Know the Locus bar
The bar stays below the main window and becomes your compact control strip after you close the larger page. It shows only the buttons that make sense for the Place and Room you are using.

In Room Portal, Walls lets you open or close individual detected surfaces. If tracking is interrupted, Try Again appears when Locus can look for your room again.
Why did the virtual desk turn transparent? A Room can allow selected furniture—often a desk or table—to fade when it overlaps a Locus window or blocks your view of one. Move the window or your viewpoint clear of that furniture and it returns. This automatic fade keeps the window readable; it is separate from Show desk, which reveals your physical desk.
Return to Places from Browser
Look at the first button in the Locus Browser toolbar—the picture-shaped icon that matches Places. Choose it to open Places in the main Locus window, where you can change your Room or View. Your Browser window and page stay open.
Change and customize your Place
Open Places again and choose another Room or View. While you are already inside a Place, selecting a card applies the new choice immediately.
Once the layout feels familiar, continue with Customize your Place to turn the View, balance sky and Room lighting, control supported fixtures, and decide which changes to save.
