Public authoring kit · Apache-2.0

You may use, modify, and distribute the public Room-building skill, packer, validator, scaffolder, and schemas under the Apache License 2.0. The exact repository paths are listed in LICENSE.md. This license does not include the private Locus app source.

Demo Rooms · CC-BY-4.0

The Locus-authored geometry, arrangement, lighting artwork, and thumbnail in Atrium Loft, Courtyard Gallery, and Horizon Atelier are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International. You may share or adapt those parts, including commercially.

Credit the Room as <Room name> by EnterLocus.com, link CC BY 4.0, and say if you changed it. Do not imply that EnterLocus.com endorses your version.

Embedded Poly Haven textures

These six files remain under the creators' CC0 1.0 terms. Attribution is not required by CC0, but the source credits are preserved here:

The Room ZIP's provenance.json identifies CC BY 4.0 for the Locus-authored parts and points back to these component notices.

Proprietary assets · LicenseRef-EnterLocus-Proprietary

When provenance.json names LicenseRef-EnterLocus-Proprietary, you may use that asset with the official Locus app for its intended product or documentation example. Copyright and other applicable rights remain reserved by EnterLocus.com; the identifier does not grant permission to redistribute, sublicense, sell, or reuse the asset elsewhere.

Cloud Fan Pavilion animation sample

The Locus Place's rights statement reserves copyright and other applicable rights in the original Locus architecture, furnishings, lighting, plant, animation artwork, and thumbnail in Cloud Fan Pavilion. You may use the free Room with the official Locus app. Those original parts are not licensed for redistribution, sublicensing, sale, or reuse elsewhere.

The animation metadata, playback, Quick Controls and Motion settings, speed control, and replay interval behavior shown by this Room are experimental and may change. See the sample instructions and download.

Embedded Poly Haven textures

The Room uses Laminate Floor 02 by Charlotte Baglioni and Dario Barresi, plus Plywood and White Plaster 02 by Rob Tuytel. Those texture files retain their creators' CC0 1.0 terms; the Room's reserved-rights statement does not replace those terms.

Mars, Jupiter and Neptune: Solar System Scope

The planet textures in Mars from Space, Jupiter from Space and Neptune from Space are by Solar System Scope / INOVE, licensed under CC BY 4.0. This applies to each package’s celestial/day.jpg and the planet-image contributions to panorama.jpg, lighting.jpg and thumbnail.jpg. EnterLocus makes its adaptations of these planet-image contributions available under the same license.

Original Mars, Jupiter and Neptune maps are 8192×4096, 4096×2048 and 2048×1024 respectively. We retained the source JPEGs and rendered spherical lighting, an artistic atmospheric rim, an 8192×4096 fallback, lighting images and thumbnails. The derived dimensions do not add source detail. Source saturation adjustments and gap filling remain.

You may copy, share and adapt the identified material, including commercially, under CC BY 4.0. The proprietary restrictions elsewhere on this page and in Locus application terms do not restrict these licensed rights. When offered as downloadable Views, these textures are supplied in ordinary unencrypted package files. Credit, source links and modification history are included in each package. No author endorsement is implied.

The shared star raster and coordinate catalog have separate provenance: Yale Bright Star Catalogue, fifth revised edition (Hoffleit & Warren, 1991), via NASA HEASARC. The CC notice above does not relicense App code, Room assets, trademarks or unrelated material.

Moon: NASA imagery

Moon from Space uses the 8192×4096 color map from the NASA CGI Moon Kit. Credit: NASA's Scientific Visualization Studio; Ernie Wright (USRA); LRO LROC/LOLA teams. The source combines LROC imagery with polar LOLA fill; its source adjustments and lower-resolution polar areas remain.

EnterLocus converted the 16-bit sRGB TIFF to an 8-bit RGB PNG while retaining its color profile, then rendered spherical lighting, an 8192×4096 fallback, a lighting image and a thumbnail. The slow rotation is an artistic loop, not a lunar ephemeris. These changes are recorded in the package provenance.

The NASA source imagery is identified separately from the CC BY 4.0 planet textures above. Consult the NASA Images and Media Usage Guidelines, including their third-party and endorsement provisions. Locus's reserved-material terms do not claim ownership of, or add restrictions to, the NASA source imagery. No NASA endorsement or rights to NASA logos or identifiers are granted.

The shared Yale/HEASARC star field and catalog, App code, Room assets, branding and unrelated material retain their separate provenance and rights.

What is not included

Locus names, logos, app icons, and other brand identifiers are not licensed for reuse. The private app source, this website's content, and any asset or file not expressly listed above also remain reserved. A license may let you describe the origin of a work; it does not let you present your version as an official Locus product.

AI disclosure

Each published Room or View records whether generative AI contributed to it through aiGenerated and aiProvider in provenance.json. The applicable license and third-party notices still control reuse.
