Experimental demo
Try a Room that moves.
Coffee Atrium POC puts two independent animations inside one Room: an abstract visitor pauses for coffee while a sculptural ceiling fan turns above.
Experimental · Room v4 · 8.3 MBDownload and try it
Save the ZIP to Files, then choose Import a Room in Locus. Pair it with any View and enter the Room.
- Open the downloaded ZIP with Locus, or choose Import a Room from your Library.
- Enter Coffee Atrium POC and open Controls → Ambient Animations to turn each experimental animation on or off.
- Open Quick Settings → Room to try experimental speed and interval settings, then save them for this Room.
Turning an animation off stops that movement; the Room remains available. Saved animation settings apply only to this Room on the current device.
What moves
How experimental intervals work
The interval is the pause after one animation finishes. A minimum and maximum of 0–0 means immediate replay. Matching nonzero values create a fixed pause. With different values, Locus picks a fresh random pause within the range after every completed play.
The minimum never crosses above the maximum: raising the minimum also raises the maximum when needed, and lowering the maximum also lowers the minimum. Speed and interval changes are experimental along with the rest of Room animation playback.
For Room creators
This download is a working example of the experimental ambientAnimations field in a flat Room v4 ZIP. The building, animated figure, fan, and their animation clips are packaged together in one self-contained USDZ.
Rights and notices
The ZIP carries a reserved-rights statement for its Locus-authored geometry, arrangement, lighting, animation artwork, and thumbnail. You may use it with the official Locus app for this demonstration; those parts are not licensed for redistribution or reuse elsewhere. Embedded Poly Haven textures retain CC0 1.0.
