Windows in front, and the toolbar a pinch away.
Pinch and hold anywhere to bring the toolbar to where you're looking, Windows & Crown is now the default immersion for new installs, and two new Rooms join the Library.
Pinch and hold to bring back the toolbar.
Closed the toolbar, or left it somewhere behind you? Pinch and hold anywhere around you for a moment. A ring fills, and the toolbar comes to where you're looking. It works in Virtual Space and Room Portal, in every Room.
Prefer a button you can see? Choose one in Settings under Summon Toolbar. If you upgraded from 1.2.0 and never chose a setting there, the floating Menu button no longer appears by default; pinch and hold takes its place.
Windows & Crown is the new default.
New installs now start in Windows & Crown. Your windows stay in front of the Room, so furniture never covers them, and the Digital Crown brings your real surroundings back in. Windows & Crown is also listed first in the Immersion choice. Still on Desk & Surroundings? Give it a try; you can switch back anytime.
Two new Rooms in the Library.
- Lakeside Cabin (free): a timber cabin with glass walls and a stone fireplace. The fire flickers and warms the room, and the desk lamp, floor lamp and pendant light the room the same way from every seat.
- Skyline Office (Supporter): a modern office with floor-to-ceiling corner glass, a walnut desk and lounge seating that faces the view, with late-night music.
Also in this update.
- Seats stays open after you choose a seat, so you can try the next one straight away. Seat markers close with the toolbar.
- Recenter carries over when you switch seats.
- Settings → About Locus now lists Acknowledgements for the open-source work Locus builds on.
For authors.
Complete Package v2 is now the canonical import format: Import a View and Import a Room accept a complete Package v2 ZIP, and a field means the same thing whether a Room or View comes with the app, from the Library, or from your own ZIP. New in the format for 1.2.1:
- Rooms: video surfaces, particle effects with a fire preset, per-lamp baked light layers, illuminated surfaces, and the direction the View faces.
- Views: midground scenery and water between the Room and the panorama, with waves, a shoreline and surf, and wind sway for midground plants.
